PARIS — Stellantis is looking to reorganize some of its non-production sites in the Paris region, which focus on areas such as administration and research, a company spokesperson said.

The move, aimed at reducing costs and adapting the company to employees working from home, will reduce the number of sites in the area from five to three, the spokesperson also said, adding that sites at Satory and Trappes were likely to close.

Stellantis did not respond immediately to a request for details on the sites.

PSA Group, now part of Stellantis, took similar steps in recent years in an effort to cut costs. In 2017 PSA moved out of its longtime headquarters in Paris near the Arc de Triomphe to the suburb of Rueil-Malmaison.

Then in 2020, PSA decentralized further, moving some executive and support functions to its Velizy technical center west of Paris, and others to its factory complex in Poissy, also west of Paris.

PSA was proactive in allowing remote working even before the pandemic, and had moved to a system of shared desks at its administrative sites.

Renault Group is also reducing its real estate footprint in the Paris region. It is leaving its own historic headquarters in Boulogne-Billiancourt as part of a broader cost-cutting effort.
